In order to join a protected city, John Doe agrees to go on a cross country mission to deliver a valuable package in this exciting adaptation of the Twisted Metal game franchise.

My love for the game Twisted Metal 2 knows no bounds, so you can imagine the excitement I felt when I saw a TV adaptation in the works. And not just any adaptation, but one with an excellent team and cast behind it. Expectations rarely measure up to the experience, but in this case it exceeded them. I wanted a fun and wacky show with tons of nods to the game, and I got in in spaces. It was irreverent and silly with just enough heart to keep the world grounded and believable. During any given episode, I could find myself deeply touched by the material one minute and then laughing my ass off during the others.

The show runners did an amazing job setting up the worldbuilding to make something truly unique and memorable. It is extremely dark and violent, so stay away if you find such subject matter triggering. I'm honestly rather shocked it came out on Peacock; this seemed very much a show for HBO or Amazon Prime. I'm not sure if it did well ratings wise so who knows if a second season will be green-lit. But even without a follow up to the first season, I truly enjoyed every moment of it and could see myself going back to relive it all again.
