Keera, an assassin for some king or the other, teams up with a resistance group to help overthrow the current monarchy.

Erm, here is Leigha back for another “it’s not you, it’s me” fantasy romance review. Is this a quick read featuring a badass woman and alpha male? Yes. Did Leigha actually enjoy it? I enjoyed the accomplishment of reading another story this year, but not necessarily the story itself. The action sequences were properly intense, the banter was usually witty, and the romance was suitably on the warm side. I just didn’t feel enough of a connection about the story or the characters to care about the outcome. I might have given the second book a shot, but I hear it travels into love triangle territory (which is sorta referenced at the end of this novel). That’s a no from me.
