Exiled Patroclus falls in love with the legendary Achilles, but their love is challenged when they are drafted to fight in the Trojan War.

I was initially not interested in reading this novel as I rarely enjoy historical retellings. However, I'm really glad I gave The Song of Achilles a shot. The audiobook is absolutely phenomenal! The narrator perfectly captures the unique voices and tones of the Greek heroes, particularly Achilles and Odysseus. The story itself is very much a coming-of-age story about two young boys leaning and loving each other as they grow into young men. While everyone knows the outcome of these two, it's the journey itself that creates a sweet and beautiful story of love and loyalty. In other words, it's all bout the journey and not the destination.
