An unemployed actress agrees to help her family produce their latest film, but she ends up taking on the main lead alongside her nemeses in this contemporary romance.

Love Scenes was a quick and easy read with the potential for greatness. While I enjoy rom-coms centered around movie/film productions, this book didn't have anything standing out to make it special or memorable from others using this setting. The main protagonist, Sloan, was by far the most developed of the characters. Her struggles with her family, her co-star/love interest, and her pride are certainly an intriguing mix. But very few of the other characters felt complex or real, including her supposed love interest. While I may not have been blown over by this story, I'm certainly going to keep an eye on Bridget Morrisey novels in the future.
